Shirley received her Bachelor of Law degree at the University of Calgary in 1991, was admitted to the Alberta bar in 1992 and has been in private practice since then, joining Beaumont Church in January, 2023.

Shirley was raised on her family’s farm near Sundre, Alberta and has been riding horses for as long as she can remember and still owns and rides horses at their acreage near Chestermere.  Shirley has been married for 30 years and, with her husband, has eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
